Your face on vinyl promo video
A video promoting my business "your face on vinyl" where you can order custom portraits in stencil art format. For more information check the link www.yourfaceonvinyl.com (opens a new window).

I made this video by filming at least 3 rotations of each record i sprayed on the technics 1210's and then using adobe premiere I chopped and blended the clips together. It took me ages but I'm pretty happy with the results.

Soundtrack by Clarity Peak song: 'The rood roller'

Dada Decks
Ones, twos, threes and fours. I made this video as part of university project. At the time I was (and still am) influenced by artists such as Philip Jeck and Christrian Marclay (to name a few). Vinyl and turntables are definitely not exhausted whether it be as a performance tool or artistic medium, just look at what Q-bert is doing, practically reinventing the turntable as we know it (the QFO) and look to Otomo Yoshihide (for example) who has been using vinyl records as a means of sonic art experimentation from day back in the day (by no means the only person who has). As we're all moving towards digital mediums I have thought about, but can't bring myself to writing of my decks. Even though I now dj and produce with a laptop I still love to dig in crates and couldn't bear to part with my record collection. I will definitely produce a follow up to this video.

I created this by filming each record separately and then syncing up and playing along live to the record previously recorded (beat matching the visual recording). The individual video clips were imported into adobe premiere. Each clip was rotated by 90 degrees to the previous layer clip. The records used in order of appearance are as follows on the left.

1. Mr Dibbs (sucker punch breaks vol.1) - "Whoop ass"
2. Fawlty Towers (At your service) - Spoken word LP
3. Farewell Hawaii - "Hawaiian Beach part1"
4. Lemon D - "Change"
5. Goldie - Do for love

Probably the most butiful grrl in the world (promotional video)
A video I made for the musician "fOOFoo" for a song of the same name. I made this video by using a technique called "stop frame animation" which simply means a series of photos that were taken in sequence to make it appear like a moving image. This is the same technique employed by a lot of old school animators and the only option when it comes to clay-mation. I took these photos on a flight to Poland not really having an idea what I would do with them afterwards. I applied a heavy treatment of various filters to the photos and afterwards and mirrored the video footage in various angles in order to achieve the trippy final cut. I'm pretty chuffed with the result.

Dubby layers
An experimental piece showing the evolution of a 2D image which alternates between being hand drawn and digitally enhanced every time a new image layer appears within the video. To be specific the initial image is blank piece of paper, the first image layer is hand drawn, this is then scanned into a computer, this is then altered digitally, this digitally manipulated drawing becomes the second layer in the video. This layer is then printed out and the print out is drawn onto by hand and re-scanned into the computer, this becomes the third visual layer you see. The scanned in image is digitally manipulated which becomes the fourth layer and so on. Confusing? Not really but it is difficult to explain!

The audio is a cut from a live recording of the mighty Zion train sound system
